On May 1st 2015 I filmed the Stop the Forced Closure of Aboriginal Communities Rally in Canberra, as part of the broader #SOSBlakAustralia movement. In 2022-2023, through my position as Project Manager on the ARC Amplifying Indigenous News Project, I worked on how to amplify the voices of Indigenous people in the news, looking, amongst other things, at the movement’s successful social media campaign.
In September 2020, I had the privilege to go back to Wirrimanu (Balgo), in the Great Sandy Desert of Western Australia, to film traditional dances by the Kapululangu Women and the Luurnpa Dancers for Dance Rites (Sydney Opera House). We then went on a trip back to Country to Nakarra-Nakarra - Seven Sisters. Unforgettable memories and people.
In May 2017 I was lucky enough to be part of an amazing trip back to Walkali Country, with Elders who had not been there for over 20 years. It was a very moving, emotional journey with amazing people, and one that I will never forget. You can view the film, Return to Walkali, on ICTV.
